In September, the sales and production of motorcycles witnessed to increase. This month, the production and sales reached 1,442,000 and 1,469,000 units, up 5.1% and 7.9% than that of last month, and down 10% and 8.3% year on year. The sales had been down for four successive months, 1.8 percentage points and 3 percentage points narrow than that of last month. To be specific, the production and sales of two-wheeled reached 1,257,000 and 1,289,000 units, down 9.6% and 7.6% year on year. The production and sales of three-wheeled were 185,000 and 180,000 units, down 12.7% and 13.2% year on year.
For the first nine months, the accumulated production and sales of motorcycles reached 12,293,000 and 12,296,000 units respectively, both down 13.8% from the previous year. The decrease rates narrowed 0.7 percentage points and 1.2 percentage points comparing with the first half of the year, and enlarged 5 percentage points and 4.9 percentage points than the same period of last year.
